Johnny Riley and the Delta Beats: Drummer Rodney Polk, and bass player CW Hasty merge their own extensive backgrounds as performing artists into a sweet and tight trio performance influenced by many genres. Each one brings to the stage a history of performing professionally on stages from the backroads of Texas, the Blues roots of Beale Street, the coal mines of Kentucky with enough Delta Crossroads thrown in to give them their own unique blend of music. They come from a background of Blues, Rock, Gospel, Outlaw Country and more.
Johnny Riley, from Groveton, Texas is strongly influenced by both his Mississippi and Texas roots. Johnny’s mother was born in Clarksdale, MS. Mississippi delta blues was a musical first love for Johnny, who spent much of his childhood in Mississippi. Johnny’s father was a Holiness preacher from Texas, so gospel music also figured big in Johnny's heritage. It has been said that Johnny Riley is a Southern US jukebox, melding roots music as well as capable of playing single genre country, blues, gospel, or bluegrass. He is a songwriter and a performer with years of experience with his band and performing solo.
